Terms of use
Last updated 3 October 2026
- LearnML is free. Use it to learn, and be decent to it and to other learners.
- The AI tutor can be wrong. Check anything that matters.
- Your notes are yours. The lessons, labs and code are LearnML's; the papers belong to their authors.
- LearnML is offered as it is, and it can change. You can delete your account at any time.
Who we are
LearnML is a free course in machine learning at joinlearnml.com and app.joinlearnml.com, made and run by one person ("we" on this page). By using LearnML you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Who can use LearnML
You need to be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for using online services without a parent's permission. If you're under 18, check with a parent or guardian first.
Your account
- You sign in with Google or GitHub. Keep that account safe: whatever happens while you're signed in counts as you.
- One account per person, and don't share it.
- What LearnML keeps and why is in the privacy policy. You can download your data or delete your account from the account menu at any time.
The AI tutor
- The tutor is an AI (Anthropic's Claude). It explains well but can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Check anything important against the lesson, the paper or another source.
- It's for learning. Its answers aren't professional advice of any kind: medical, legal, financial or otherwise.
- There's a daily allowance for each learner and for the whole site, so the tutor stays free. When it runs out, it comes back the next day (UTC).
- Don't put private information about yourself or anyone else into your questions.
Using LearnML fairly
Please don't:
- try to break, overload or get around LearnML's limits, sign-in or security, or use it to attack anything else;
- use bots, scripts or scrapers on it, including to use the AI tutor for things other than learning here;
- fake your progress or points, or use several accounts to climb the leaderboard;
- pick a nickname or write feedback that is offensive, hateful, impersonates someone, or breaks the law;
- copy LearnML's lessons, labs or code to publish or sell them as your own.
If someone does, we may remove their nickname, reset their points, or suspend or delete their account.
Points and the leaderboard
Points measure progress in LearnML and are worth nothing outside it: they can't be exchanged, bought or sold. The leaderboard shows only learners who join it, by nickname. Its "practice rivals" are made up, to keep a new board company, and are always labelled. We may change how points work, or reset them if something goes wrong.
Who owns what
- Yours: your notes, highlights and anything else you write. You let LearnML store and process them only to give you the service (for example, saving them to your account and sending a question to the AI tutor).
- LearnML's: the lessons, labs, pictures, Nuri, the design and the code. You're welcome to use them to learn, and to share links.
- The papers' authors: the research papers belong to their authors and publishers. LearnML only finds and shows versions that are already free to read, such as arXiv's, and links to where each paper comes from.
- Feedback: if you send ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve LearnML without owing you anything.
Changes, and no guarantees
- LearnML is free, and offered "as it is". We work to keep it accurate and running, but can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that saved progress can never be lost (there are daily backups, see the privacy policy).
- We may change, add or remove features, lessons or limits, or stop running LearnML. If we ever stop, we'll give notice on the site first where we can, so you have time to download your data.
- As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses from using LearnML, or from relying on the AI tutor's answers. Nothing here takes away rights you have by law that can't be signed away.
Ending
You can stop using LearnML and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms. Sections about ownership and responsibility keep applying after that.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes too, and for important changes we'll say so in the app. Using LearnML after a change means you accept the new terms.
